Read about what's happening over here
Why the fuck would he not wait until he was SURE he had HIV before telling us he did! Did he simply not even think about how it might affect us? Doubtful. From my dealings with him, he is nothing but a manipulative asshole, that loves this kind of crap.
Fast forward two days, when he contacts us again to go on a raving, indecipherable rant about how it has come to his attention that the kids now call me Dad, and how unacceptable that is. They actually don't call me Dad, and I would never make them, but the guy has a complete inability to ascertain what is real and normal. Is a 4 year old who spends all but 2 years of his life with his step-father not ever supposed to think of that person as a father? How can someone rationally expect that to not happen? I'm sure he was drunk when he sent all that shit to us anyway, so after writing it down here, I will forget about it.
In happier news, the new book is moving forward pretty quickly. The darkness of it has affected me, but so it goes. It just continues to get darker frankly, so I must deal. Also, I have what will probably be the cover ready. I am not sure exactly, it may get tweaked, or it may change completely. Right now it is in the hands of pro, as I mocked this version up myself. Hopefully they will be able to put that last little bit on it that makes it perfect. I'll let you know.
Also, I am in the middle of a blog tour, but I think that it's basically worthless for me. The nice lady that is running the tour has sent Strawberries to a bunch of blogs that clearly rely almost exclusively on romance literature. Not my audience. Also, 4 or 5 of the blogs on the schedule didn't even post. Luckily this is only costing me time, as I agreed to draw a picture for her son in exchange. Pikachu riding on the back of a shark. Should be fun to do.
I will kill you, but you will laugh at my delivery.
This has nothing to do with the post, just needed a picture.
I have taken my sweet time, but finally there is a website with my name on it gracing the internet. It is a humble little thing now, but it has room to grow like hand-me-down clothes. Please feel free to comment on anything, contact me anywhere, and just sort of hang about.
I am upset that Medium no longer allows merging of their feed into personal websites. I moved the last three blog posts over, but I guess the rest will just stay over there, in blog purgatory, waiting on someone who will never come.
Now off to try and type pretty words about ugly things. I'm about halfway done on the first draft of Behind the Red Curtain. I have a goal of finishing by the end of June, but we shall see.
