47 Meters Down (2017)
Johannes Roberts, various low budget horror flicks
I actually have a tiny shark tattooed on my hand. I went with my friend’s wife to give her support when she got a butterfly tattooed on the top of her foot and decided to get one while I was there. I have ideas for bigger ones planned, but this time I just wanted something small. The artist told me it was silly to get one on my hand, especially as my first. He also said that gangs get them where I wanted to get mine. I found this fascinating and decided to get a little shark – to rep the only gang I know anything about; The Sharks from West Side Story. Yeah, I know, you don’t have to tell me.
Also, because I continuously made new teeth until the age of 28. No really, that isn’t a joke.
I am finding this movie to be genuinely frightening. I have no idea how realistic it is, but it certainly seems so. The ocean, teamed with sharks, lack of air, no idea what is coming or going to happen, with the occasional jump scare is terrifying. Your experience may be quite different if this isn’t the type of stuff that freaks you out, but I am unnerved.
